Hi Everyone! Even though there are days in Dallas that feel like September, we are quickly headed into winter. As with any season, this means a little bit of a rotation as it relates to beauty. So today, I want to share with you a few of my winter beauty essentials. These are all tried and true favorites and I’ve been using most them for at least a few years.
|1| L’Occitane Hand Cream Shea Butter Hand Cream: I truly cannot be without this stuff during the winter months. Like many my hands tend to get super dry and itchy when it’s cold. Nothing soothes them like this hand cream. I know it’s on the pricey side for hand cream, but it’s worth every penny. I got everyone on my team at work, and even our client addicted to it.
|2| Tan Towel Tan Half Body Packs Plus: I can’t be bothered with any self tanners that require washing off, special mitts, or a ton a prepping & priming. The tan towels are really easy to use. Literally, you just take the single use wipes out of the individual packets and rub them on to clean skin. A tan develops within 4-6 hours and lasts 5-7 days. As with all self tanners I’ve ever tried, these do smell on the day you apply so I usually apply before I go to sleep so I can wash the smell away in the morning. I find the half body application ones enough for my legs and arms. Also, I often find these for the best price on amazon.
|3| The Ordinary Lactic Acid Exfoliator: I’ve said this over and over again, gentle exfoliating is where it’s at with skin care. This is particularly important in the winter to make sure all our moisturizers are actually penetrating through our skin. I’ve been using this super expensive Lactic Acid lotion for over a year now, but a few months ago decided to try our The Ordinary’s 5% Lactic Acid. They have a 5% and a 10% Lactic Acid formulation depending on how sensitive your skin is. As a MAJOR plus, the bottle costs $6.50.
|4| Static Guard Spray: Ok, technically this isn’t exactly a beauty item. But I have been known to spray it on my hairbrush when my hair is extra static-y. We keep one full size in our closer and one travel size spray for my purse. I usually spray this on my coats, certain tops, skirts, dresses and even boots. I can’t be without it, but if any of you know any other alternatives for static please leave them in the comments!
|5| Facial Mist: Oh, who am I kidding, I spritz facial sprays on my face ALL FREAKIN YEAR so this is a life essential. But, I do go completely ham in the winter. Dry skin + powder don’t do well together, but I need the powder because of my combo skin. Using a facial spray after I do my makeup is the only way to get rid of the appearance of powder. I also keep a spray in my purse to use throughout the day. I love this, this and this spray.
