Hi Friends! I’m back from my little weekend getaway for my best friend’s wedding (I’ll be writing a post on that soon). And today I am not only doing a weekly favorite, but I am also guest posting over at Sparkle’s & Latte’s. I’m breaking down my Top 5 Drugstore items so check it out here.
I’ve been holding back on writing about this one since I wanted to use it for a few weeks before I declared it a favorite. But I knew I loved this the moment I first used it. I’m talking about the Dry Bar Triple Sec 3 in 1 Texturizer.
I’ll start by saying that I have pretty fine hair. I also don’t have a lot of it. If I just let my hair air dry, my hair will lay completely flat at my scalp. For the last few years, I have been using this volumizing mousse on my damp hair. I then flip my hair upside down and blow dry my roots to get a little volume and grip. Although I wasn’t disappointed with the results, I wasn’t always super impressed.
This summer it got so hot in Texas that I stopped blow drying my hair after washing it. I just couldn’t deal with all the heat. As a result, I couldn’t apply the mousse since it would dry all crusty. So basically I got hat hair every day even though I wasn’t even wearing hats!
I knew the potential solution to my problem was to get a texturixing spray and use that on my roots after my hair was dry. I’d heard a lot about the Dry Bar Triple Sec and had tested it out at Sephora a couple of times so decided to go for it.
The regular sized bottle costs $26 at Sephora or Nordstrom which is right around how much the mouse cost.
Why I Love it?
+ This texturizer is basically a dry shampoo, hair spray and volumizer in one. A few sprays of this will instantly lift and take care of any oiliness.
+ My hair is left with really good grit (enough to hold a hairstyle) but my hair doesn’t get tangly
+ The scent smells really fresh to me. However, be warned it is a strong scent! And I know some people don’t like it. The scent is just like all the other Dry Bar products so if you’re unsure, I would go smell it at Sephora.
+ This gets me the volume I’m looking for in just seconds! With a mousse I would have to blow dry my roots long enough for them to be completely dry. With this spray, I can let my hair air dry and then just so 3-4 sprays around my roots and I’m good to go.
+ I can use this instead of hair spray when doing a sock bun. I usually need to use hair spray and tease my hair a little to get it to go around the little donut. The Triple Sec works so much better! I just put my hair in a pony tail and then do 3-4 sprays.
+ It’s paraben, sulfate & phalate free. And it’s not tested on animals!
Have you tried this spray? I’ve hear a lot about the Ouai and Oribe texturizing sprays so I may give those a try next 🙂
