Oh Weekly Favorites… it’s been a while. I would love to have a favorite for you guys every week, but I don’t always have something that I’m loving. And rather than just write about something I’m feeling meh about or digging up an old favorite, I’d rather skip a week until I have something I am truly loving a this moment of my life. So, for today’s weekly favorite I am talking about the Drunk Elephant Pekee Bar.
Is it starting to seem like I’m the Drunk Elephant spokesperson? I wish. I also wish they sent me products. But, you best be sure that I’ve bought all of the recent Drunk Elephant products with my own hard earned money. This is actually my second Pekee Bar.
The Drunk Elephant Pekee bar is a facial cleanser. Like a bar of soap, except it doesn’t contain soap. I actually lost my first bar since it looked so much like a bar of soap from a hotel I ended up forgetting it in the shower. According to the product description, this is a gentle, multitasking bar that deeply cleanses, tones, and moisturizes without stripping or irritating the skin. It clarifies, balances, and moisturizes while rinsing away pore-clogging surface debris, impurities, and excess oil. Infused with a powerful blend of blueberry extract, marula oil, and honey, it gently cleanses, tones, and promotes moisture retention, elasticity, and firmness. It is fragrance- and soap-free and only formulated with skin-friendly ingredients designed to cleanse and calm the skin. It costs $28 at Sephora or the Dermstore.
Why I like It?
+ It’s great for travel since it’s not a liquid
+ Even though it doesn’t foam up like other cleansers, it still lathers enough to spread easily and clean my entire face and neck.
+ It’s surprisingly effective as a makeup remover. I didn’t bring a makeup remover or cleansing oil on my trip last week. All I had was this and I didn’t have any issues.
+ My skin feels clean AND moisturized after I use it.
+ It’s PH balanced so I don’t have to worry about using a balancing toner after (another plus when traveling)
+ The ingredient deck is A+, no fragrances, parabens or phalates.
+ The brand itself is cruelty free
+ I did not experience any break outs from using this for a few weeks (my skin is extremely sensitive to changes in products)
Basically, I love everything about the pekee bar. The only issue I have with it is that I have to remember to bring a little snack size Ziploc to put it in. Other than that, this will be my go to travel cleanser since it’s so much more convenient than liquid cleansers. I don’t have to worry about liquid limits, space or having it explode in my bag!
