Weekend recap, another round of: eating, cleaning, laundry, eating and some working out. But since I know you all are dying to see my scarce and blurry iPhone pics, I shall comply.
Friday started off with the most adorable Be My Bridesmaid Box from my friend Daniella. We have been friends for over 20 years now and she was a bridesmaid at my wedding. I started dating Fernando around the same time she started dating her future hubby. I can’t wait to celebrate her special day (and to use all the goodies she sent).
The rest of our Friday was the same as everyone else’s Friday, we watched the opening ceremony of the Rio Olympics. I feel bad for saying this but, I was mostly bored. I even fell asleep at one point. I guess I was expecting the ceremony to be livelier. And by livelier I mean I thought they would samba through the entire ceremony 😛
Tuna and I made it all the way through team USA’s entrance and then took a little nap until the samba actually happened. It was a little too late for me hehe. Also, can we take a moment and talk about Giselle? She’s gorgeous and all, but that was the most random thing to insert mid opening ceremony. Can someone please explain? I mean, she just showed up out of nowhere, walked the runway to nowhere and then disappeared.
On Saturday I visited a coworker who had a baby in June (I seem to be visiting a baby every weekend nowadays). But baby is super cute and let me hold her without crying. I seem to be on some sort of baby-holding-without-crying streak. Let’s all pretend that’s a thing. After that I met a friend to celebrate her birthday at Mi Cocina in Dallas. Side note: Mi Cocina has quite a few vegetarian options. They have Portobello mushroom fajitas that are delicious.
Because the giant serving of mushroom fajitas wasn’t enough, I stopped by Sprinkles cupcakes to pick up a few cupcakes for the husband (and me of course). Sprinkles aren’t my favorites cupcakes in Dallas (I live for Society Bakery cupcakes), but they are the only cupcake place open until 9pm.
Regardless, the cupcakes were still delicious. Particularly the banana with dark chocolate frosting cupcake. I could eat 3 of those in one sitting.
Sunday was like most other Sunday’s, a little cleaning, a little laundry, grocery shopping, etc. For some reason I thought it would be a good idea to do my grocery shopping at the Super Target… who goes to Target and doesn’t leave with all kinds of unnecessary items? NO ONE. But shockingly I did not buy any makeup. The only beauty related purchases were this shampoo and another color of the Sally Hansen miracle gel polish in Pink Stiletto which I talked about in this post. Upon first impression, this color is also great. Two coats were more than enough!
I hope everyone had a great weekend! Check in later this week for my weekly favorite 😉
