Hi Friends! I hope you had a good weekend. I usually do weekend recap posts on Monday, but I’m not sure I have a whole lot to recap today. It’s interesting because if I had to guess which posts had the most views, weekend recaps would not be up there. Yet it seems like many of you visit on Monday. Not sure if it’s the fact that it’s Monday, or people are actually interested in what I did.
Friday was spent as most Friday’s are – winding down from the workweek, eating and watching TV. #CantstopwatchingSuits
I spent most of Saturday morning taking pictures for the blog. I got lucky and the sky was overcast which gave me more time than usual. My window for pictures is usually an hour before the sun is too harsh. But, since it was overcast on Saturday I got an extra two hours.
Side note: I really haven’t talked politics on the blog, mostly because it seems to be such a polarizing subject lately. However, after watching the Women’s Marches Saturday morning on TV, I felt too inspired to ignore it on the blog. After all, it is my blog. So, if any of my lovely readers were out there marching this weekend: I’m so proud of you. You truly inspire me. My husband and I spent the entire morning talking about how we should have been out there. Unfortunately there wasn’t a march in Dallas (as far as I know). But after watching millions of people take to the streets over such real & important issues I felt like an idiot for not driving somewhere to join them. That’s our bad, but I already asked my mom to make me a pussy hat for next time 😉
Ok, so back to the neutral zone… After pictures, I took advantage of the clouds and went for a quick run. And by run I mean I walked half of the time. I’ve been using the Couch to 5K app since last year. It’s supposed to train you for a 5K in 8 weeks. Mind you, I’ve had this app for 10 months and I’m still on week 4 haha. I really dislike running. Therefore, it doesn’t happen often which prevents me from really making any progress to the whole 5K situation. But, I made it through week 4 in one piece.
Later in the day a few friends came over to do a little wedding planning (for one of them), to take pictures for a special blog post (for next week) and then girls dinner.
Sunday I went to Barre class with my sister and spent the rest of the day doing stuff around the house and working on the blog. For the most part I try to get all my posts for the week done and scheduled on Sundays. Not sure if this is the most productive method, but when I sit down to write, I prefer to get at least a couple of posts done.
If you follow me on Instagram you saw that mid afternoon I caught Tuna trying to climb on the window still haha. She loves sitting out on the balcony around 3pm each day when the sun is hitting that area. However, it was chilly and windy yesterday so I didn’t open the door for her as usual. Around 3pm I noticed her circling the side chairs. It turns out, a little sliver of sunlight was hitting the side chairs by the window and she was trying to position herself right on that little spot. It tugged on my heart so I ended up opening the shades and placing the pillow perfectly so she could sit in the sun. My little squish <3
As usual, today I’m linking up with Biana from Bloved Boston.
