Ugh, why is the weekend always SO SHORT?! (#DebbieDowner). The hubby is always talking about how we should have 3 day weekends and 4 day workweeks. No one tell him, but on that particular point, I agree with him.
Friday started out with a bit of a shopping excursion. My friend works at the corporate office of a popular home goods store. Since she gets a nice little 20% discount we headed to one of the stores for a little retail therapy. Considering the discount incentive, I didn’t walk out with as much stuff as I thought I would. Although I almost bought a dining room table…
My favorite purchases were a few props for my blog pictures and the two white throw pillows below. I obviously have a thing for white, but I’m not sure these will survive the wear and tear on our living room couch. It doesn’t help that Tuna keeps trying to attack the fuzzies. I may need to relocate them to our bedroom.
I spent the rest of Friday night watching the movie The Impossible (now on Netflix) and crying my eyes out. The movie is based on the true story of a family that was vacationing in Thailand when the 2004 Tsunamis hit. It’s a great movie, but if you are at all sensitive – prepare the tissues. After watching it, I thought every little noise was a tsunami wave… And yes, we live very in-land in Dallas.
Saturday I failed to workout, but helped my friend Wendy with some wedding planning. Later we met up with another friend for a little dinner.
When I got home, my hubby somehow tricked me into watching Suicide Squad. No tissues needed for that movie. Unless you tend to tear up from crappy movie plots. More specifically, I fail to get the allure people seem to have with Harley Quinn as a villain. She’s essentially a normal professional woman that turns into a villain after falling in love/becoming obsessed with a man? She doesn’t have any superpower… or normal power/talent for that matter. All she has is a bat and a “costume” that involves a t-shirt and panties. I don’t understand. When are we ever going to see a male villain with that kind of back story? ….Oh wait, NEVER, because it’s ridiculous.
Sunday we had the laziest day we’ve had in a LONG time. Usually on Sunday’s I’ll set an alarm to go to Barre class at 10am. After that we usually do things around the house, I work on the blog, run errands, etc. But, this weekend I decided to have a day with no plans. So, I didn’t sign up for Barre class and of course didn’t set an alarm. I ended up waking up at 10am (which isn’t bad). The problem was that I drank my coffee and then went right back to bed. Things just escalated from there.
Somehow we decided since we were having a lazy day, we should just eat whatever we wanted. And by eat whatever we wanted I mean we ordered pizza from Greenville Ave Pizza, Cheesy bread from Dominoes, and chocolate cake, cookies and brownies from Susie’s Cakes. Yep… delivery from 3 places.
And, after we ate all that, I took a two hour nap.
It was glorious… until the remorse and guilt took over.
If you need me this week I’ll be at the gym.
