I can’t believe it has actually been a month since I last sat down to write. I had so many issues transferring my domain in order to move from wordpress.com to wordpress.org that I almost gave up. But here I am again.
Most of my posts revolve around beauty products/purchases/reviews. But I did want to throw in some variety every now and then so I figured I would write a quick post about my recent trips.
Last month I flew to my hometown of El Salvador a couple of times. First for my brother’s wedding and then to a cousins wedding. The weddings were 3 weeks apart so unfortunately with work I couldn’t stay the entire month. I ended up flying back and forth (#firstworldproblems).
My first trip was for my brother’s civil and religious wedding. I will be writing a dedicated post (consisting mostly of pictures) of the decoration. My mom went all Martha Stewart on all of us and it turned out so beautiful that I feel compelled to give her credit.
I wore this Adrianna Papell lace overlay dress.
My parents surprised the couple (and guests with fireworks). The photographer caught a nice picture of me watching.
The civil wedding was on a Friday and the religious wedding was not until the following Saturday so I got to spend a week hanging out with my family and the doggies.
The religious wedding was at the same venue where I got married. My husband and I had not been back since our own wedding. It was definitely an interesting experience to be back. The best part was that I actually got to enjoy myself since it wasn’t my own wedding. Everything turned out so beautiful, the music was great, the food was delicious and the lovebirds had a blast.
Three weeks later I flew back to El Salvador for my cousins wedding. They got married at a beautiful venue overlooking a lake. The venue is about an hour away from the city so we all got dressed at a friend’s lake house. It was the perfect spot for some pictures.
Given the venue I wore this skirt and this crop top by Eliza J. I bought these at Nordstrom’s. I know they are pricey, but since these are separate pieces, I know I will be able to wear them for many other occasions.
While we were taking pictures on the deck my sister’s heel got caught in between two of the wood boards. We could not get the heel out until my dad found a tool to push the boards apart so that she could tug it out. Thankfully the shoe survived.
The wedding was lovely, and although it was HOT, we made it through the ceremony with our makeup intact (thank you L’oreal Inflallible Pro Matte Foundation). The bride somehow managed not to sweat a drop during the ceremony.
I have a picture of the bride and groom, however, I haven’t had a chance to ask them if they don’t mind me posting it on my blog so I will hold off for now!
