Hi Everyone! Today I’m finally writing the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer Review. This concealer is soooo hyped up in the beauty community. So much that certain shades are constantly sold out. It feels like I waited for months for my shade to be back in stock and I’ve been wearing non stop ever since.
This concealer runs for $24 for 0.34oz. I’m actually surprised at how large the tube is so I checked the size for some other popular concealers and the Tarte one in fact has more product. Just as a comparison, Urban Decay’s Naked Concealer costs $28 and has 16oz while Maybelline’s Fit Me concealer costs $6.99 and has 0.23oz.
It comes in a tube with a wand and there are 10 shades in the range. It claims to be a creamy, radiant concealer for coverage and contouring.
What I Like:
+ This is truly a full coverage concealer. A tiny bit goes a long way. And when I say tiny, I mean like 1/4 of the amount you would use with other concealers
+ You get a ton of product for the price so compared to other high end concealers this is good value
+ The shade I bought (light neutral) really brightens the under eye
+ Very long-lasting
+ Doesn’t accentuate fine lines or crease
What I Don’t Like:
+ The wand is giant. Seriously, it’s 3 times the size of regular concealer wands. I don’t really understand why you would need such a large wand for concealer.
+ Because of the above, it’s hard not to get a lot of product on your face.
+ The product dries really fast. As in, you need to be ready to blend when you apply. It isn’t the type of concealer you can take your time blending.
Overall this is a really nice concealer. I find myself reaching for it daily. However, is it everything I hoped for after all the hype? Not exactly. It’s a great concealer, but it’s not a miracle product either. If I had to pick, I would go with UD Naked (although this would be a close second).
If you prefer full coverage concealers and have issues with creasing, this would be a great option for you. If, on the other hand, you only need medium coverage and have issues with dryness in the under eye area the UD Naked may be better.
