A few posts back I mentioned that I wanted to do a dedicated post to the décor my mom did for my brother’s civil wedding ceremony (see post here). This will be mostly pictures since I have yet to prepare a nice flower arrangement myself.
The wedding was held at my parent’s house and the theme was a rustic/earthy feel. She used a combination of succulents (from her own garden), hydrangeas, eucalyptus, green dianthus, baby roses, chrysanthemums, carnations & brussel sprouts (yes, she used brussel sprouts). All those were arranged in a variety of vases and logs along with preserved moss, candles and some filler greens.
What is the most surprising is that the only items she spent money on for décor were the flowers and renting tables and chairs. Everything else (including the vases, logs and candles) came from her own collection. Even the logs were from our own yard.
She started prepping the day before and many of the smaller arrangements (like the one below) were prepared by her, or the florist that came to help her, the day before.
The next day was spent primarily arranging items on the table, setting the dinnerware, and lighting the hundreds of candles. My sister and I mostly helped move vases from one place to the next (we’re super helpful).
Everything looked beautiful in daylight. But, given that the ceremony was at night I thought I would also throw in some pictures of how everything looked at night. The pictures below were taken by a professional photographer. I will link his info as soon as I get it! Prepare for a photo dump!
