A good chunk of the countless hours I spend watching youtube videos is spent on empties videos. There is something so satisfying about finally finishing a product…. primarily because it means you can buy another one haha. I am always trying out new products, and I don’t tend to be loyal to particular brands so I always feel accomplished when I completely use something up.
I am not about to start filming YouTube videos, but I thought I would modify the idea into a blog post.
So let’s get started:
St. Ives Blemish Control Scrub
I’ve been through countless tubes of this. BUT I don’t actually use it on my face, I use it primarily on my legs and feet. This scrub is very grainy and is too harsh for the delicate skin on your face, but it works great for my legs. The best part? its less than $4 at Target.
Would Repurchase? Probably, I am currently trying out the St Ives Green Tea Scrub as an alternative. The granules are not as sharp and it seems to work well exfoliating my body. I may just switch to the Green Tea one since its less abrasive.
2. Batiste Dark & Deep Brown Dry Shampoo
Everyone and their mama uses this brand of dry shampoo. And for good reason, the price is on point (around $7 at most places), there are various types and its a great product. I bathe in dry shampoo so I go through a can every 6 weeks or so.
Would Repurchase? Hell yes.
3. Honest Brand Face & Body Lotion and Shampoo & Body Wash in Lavender
I mentioned in a previous post that I am trying to use more natural body products. These were an impulse buy since I had heard the brand is made without yucky ingredients. I like that the body wash had a pump, and the smell is nice, but they were just ok. I didn’t love, but I didn’t hate. Someone with very sensitive skin would like these as they are very mild.
Would repurchase? Probably not
4. Glam Glow Flashmud Brightening Treatment
I’ll start by saying that this stuff is expensive. It retails for $69 at most places. But… its great! I got a deluxe sample as a VIB reward at Sephora and went through all of it. Usually with any skincare items it takes several uses for you to see if they will work. Not this stuff. You apply a thin layer to clean, dry skin and let it sit on your face for 20 min. You then wash it off with warm water using circular motions. The result? Bright & luminous skin.
Would repurchase? Absolutely, I already purchased the full size jar.
5. Herbivore Botanicals Rose Hibiscus Face Mist
It is not secret that I love me some face mists. I have a couple in my all time favorites and have written a review on another one here. I found this one at Sephora.com when looking for a Paraben, Sulfate, Phalate & Alcohol free mist. I used it after cleansing my face but before applying moisturizer. It made my skin feel extra hydrated and I am convinced it helped clear some blemishes. A week after I ran out the blemishes around my jawline were back. The only problem I had with this is the nozzle. Similar to the Tarte Mist, the spray is not a mist. It more of a squirt so I found myself having to do 5-6 sprays to cover my whole face. Needless to say I ran out very quickly.
6. Anastasia Beverly Hills Tinted Brow Gel
It took me almost a year of practically every day use to get through this tube. This stuff is great, it helps fill any sparse areas and hold the hair in place for the entire day. The only issue I have is the price, I have a hard time paying $22 for brow gel so I am currently trying out some drugstore alternatives. So far I haven’t found anything like it.
Would repurchase? Probably.
What are some of your recent empties?
