I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about the type of posts I want to write. And to do that, I often think about the posts that I like to read. Although I love beauty posts, I also really enjoy other more personal posts. Not that a weekend summary is super personal, but at least it gives you a glimpse of the person behind the blog.
Since most weekends involve something along the lines of: eating, cleaning, laundry and more eating, I doubt this will be a regular occurrence. But, given that this weekend I made an extra effort to take blurry, low quality iPhone pics for your viewing pleasure, I figured I would recap our not-so-exciting life.
Friday my husband got tickets to his company’s suite at the American Airlines center for Pitbull’s concert. I also managed not to take a single picture. I know, what a fail.
Although my feelings towards Pitbull are luke-warm to say the least, I actually really enjoyed myself. His concert was surprisingly fun and I danced around most of the time. Also, in between his horribly misogynistic lyrics, there are some more positive & uplifting lyrics. Regardless, it was nice to get free tickets & sit in a suite. Not going to lie though, there were several times that I worried about being in a large crowd of people considering all the horrible things happening in the world these days.
Saturday was pretty busy, in the morning I went to my third acupuncture appointment. It’s a long story that I will probably write about another day, but it has really helped my skin!
While I was at my appointment, my husband had to take Tuna to the vet for the second time in a week. She had a bladder infection that was not getting any better with antibiotics. After they did some x-rays they found that she has a kidney stone the size of a marble. And she is a tiny little thing so a marble sized kidney stone is crazy. The vet thinks it could be a result of the infection but I am not really sure how it would have grown so big in such a short period of time.
So for now, she has to go on a special diet and continue taking antibiotics in hopes that the stone will get smaller and she will eventually pass it. If not, they will have to do surgery to remove it 🙁 We are hoping for the best. Not only so that she doesn’t have to go through surgery but also because of the expense. All these visits to the vet are getting quite expensive.
In the afternoon I did my first full on cycling class in years. I went to the Ride House in Dallas which I guess is similar to Soul Cycle? Basically they turn off all the lights, turn on club lights and play loud music during the entire thing. It was exhausting but I had fun. It didn’t even feel like a 45 min session.
Of course after burning all those calories it was time for a treat. We decided to go out for a nice dinner. I took the opportunity to bust out my Kate Spade crab purse. This purse just makes my day every time I use it. Unfortunately I can’t link it. It appears that it’s no longer available. But I did find it at the Kate Spade outlet in Allen.
We went to dinner at Rise #1. If you live in the Dallas area, I highly recommend this restaurant. Their specialty is soufflés and they are so, so delicious. They have around 7-8 soufflé entrées and around 6 soufflé desserts. I think I have tried all of them at one point or another, but my favorites are by far the truffle infused mushroom and the bread pudding soufflés.
This place is on the pricy side but it is so worth it. Every time I have gone the food has been A+, the service impeccable and the restaurant itself is quaint. If you sit at the kitchen bar you can see how the soufflés are made. I highly recommend it.
Sunday was the usual eat, clean, laundry, eat. And since I am sucker for punishment I went to another cycling class.
I hope all of you had a great weekend!
