Pheew. I finally got around to reviewing the Milani Conceal And Perfect 2 in 1 foundation. I’ve had it for a little over a month now but I’ve had other posts in the pipeline so I delayed. I bought this after hearing rave reviews and learning that it has really good coverage. After I tried it the first time I knew I loved it. So much that I have been wearing it to all special occasions since then. I was actually really excited to see it in the makeup artists’ kit at my friend Daniella’s wedding. You know something is good when a pro artist is carrying it around in their kit. So, let’s get to the actual reviewing part shall we?
What I like
+ This is truly a full coverage foundation. I’ve owned and tried lots of foundations that claim to be full coverage but I always end up having to do multiple layers or use a concealer for spots. This foundation covers it all. One thin layer and it covers my hyperpigmentation.
+ The coverage is buildable. Even though a thin later is pretty full coverage, it still looks good if you need to do more than one layer.
+ The finish is satin. For those of us with oily skin, dewy foundations are not the best idea. But matte foundations always look a little flat to me. This one is a nice in between.
+ Along that note, because of the satin finish it will work with most skin types.
+ It looks good in pictures since there is no SPF.
+ You can find this for $9.99 at Target.
What I Don’t Like
+ Like all drugstore foundations, it’s hard to get a good color match since you can’t test it out at the store. If you are going to buy it, make sure the return policy is good.
+ This formula oxidized a bit on me. I.e. it darkened after a few minutes of application. So, word to the wise, if you are in between two shades, go for the lighter one. I use the shade 02 Light Beige.
+ I have to retouch around my T-zone after a few hours. This will not be a problem for you if you have dry skin, but if you are combination or oily skin types, make sure to powder and bring some powder with you.
This foundation quickly made it to the top of my drugstore foundation list. In fact, it’s a the top of my overall foundation list. It covers everything I need covering, has a great finish, looks good in pictures, is affordable and lasts a long time. Even though I wouldn’t necessarily use this every day (given the high coverage), it’s become my foundation of choice for nights out and special events. That’s pretty good for a $9.99 foundation.
