As the name of my blog would indicate, I am a big fan of blush. One quick swipe and your face instantly comes to life. And the best part? There are some great inexpensive blushes! Below is my current blush line up in order from most to least used.
The Balm Instain Blush in Pinstripe
This one is in my top five blushes of all time. It’s a very deep mauve/purplish shade with a hint of shimmer. The packaging is great (and has a mirror) and the staying power is unlike any other. I can apply this blush at 7am before work and it will still be on at 9pm. This is a blush I can count on. Each shade in the Instain line runs at $22/blush. However, I got mine when The Balm was on Hautelook for $11! I only wish I had gotten another shade. Side note: this a very deep shade so it may not work on fair skin tones.
Wet N Wild Coloricon Blushes in Mellow Wine & Pearlescent Pink
At $2.99 each these blushes are cult favorites in the beauty world. They are extremely pigmented and also have great staying power. The packaging isn’t great and I find that there can be some powder fallout, but at that price, I really can’t complain. Tip: Use a very light hand with the shade Mellow Wine. It is a deep coral shade and you can go from zero to clown instantly.
Make Up Geek Blushes in Spell Bound and Love Affair
These blushes are creamy, pigmented and matte. They are $9.99 each and come in a magnetized pan so its a breeze to add them to a Z Pallette. I have yet to find a Make Up Geek product I don’t like, and everything is sold in pans so you can customize your own palette. Another side note: I first got my Z Palette after getting flustered in the mornings from having to open and close 8 different compacts to apply my make up. I realized that by depotting makeup/buying items in pans I could put almost all my products in one palette.
NYX Blush in Pinched
This blush is a dupe for the ultra popular NARS Orgasm blush. The shade is a pinky coral with some shimmer. Although I love the color, the formula is not nearly as creamy as The Balm or Make Up Geek blushes and the staying power isn’t as great. But the color is beautiful and its a $5 blush.
I am having to call these “Other” as all these were depotted from other palettes and I can’t find the names. The two square ones are from the 2014 Smashbox Holiday palette and the bronzer/blush duo was depotted from the Urban Decay Naked on the Run palette(not 100% sure on this one). These are nice blushes, but to be honest I rarely use them anymore.
Swatches are in the same order as listed above starting with Instain in Pinstripe at the top
I think its safe to say that I currently have enough blush to last me a lifetime (considering how little product you need on a day to day basis). But don’t worry, that certainly will not stop me from trying out new ones. I have my eye on a certain Becca Luminous Blush. What is your favorite blush to wear?
