Tuesday was an awesome day since our good friends Wendy and David got engaged. The best part was that David asked us to participate in the proposal by holding signs that read: “Wendy Will You Marry Me?”. My husband and I were the “Wendy” part of the sign.
Having some of her closest friends holding the signs was really sweet. And her face as she saw everyone outside was priceless haha. She kept saying “oh!” and pointing at each person as she realized all the people there.
The evening brought a lot of memories from when we got engaged.
I have a few insanely expensive makeup items on my wishlist at Nordstrom’s.
It all started last week when my awesome Dad saw me eyeing this $32 Charlotte Tilbury lipstick and bought it for me. Guys, it’s the most expensive lipstick that I own! I think the second most expensive lip product I own is this one.
Anyways, it was like a gateway drug… but for makeup! Now I am wanting to try all of the items above.
Need. To. Resist.
I went to my second facial appointment this week in an attempt to keep my breakouts under control. My previous facial was so unbelievably painful that I almost didn’t go back. However, my skin was so much clearer for the weeks following that I decided to risk my life again (#dramaqueen) and do another session.
During previous visits I discussed with the esthetician different options to deal with the lovely hyperpigmentation and scars that have been left behind. She highly recommended IPL laser for the hyperpigmentation and micro needling for any scarring. BUT since it’s only been a month of having the breakouts under control I said I wanted to wait.
Yesterday however, during my facial she said that she really thought laser treatment would be extremely helpful, and, if I wanted she would do one session at no charge so I could see what it could do. And friends, who refuses a free session of laser that usually costs upwards of $200? So she went ahead an did the laser right then and there.
It took less than 10 minutes to do my whole face. And although it wasn’t painful, it was definitely uncomfortable. If you have ever had laser hair removal – the sensation is almost exactly the same (uses same technology).
Obviously it’s too early to tell if it did anything but I will definitely write a post about the whole experience in the future.
This weekend looks like it will be pretty low key for us. We are celebrating a friend’s birthday tonight and other than that we don’t have any set plans. I am thinking it’s time to clean out my closet and donate items I don’t use. A fall “cleaning” if you will.
I usually have no issues getting rid of stuff. But without fail, whenever I am going through my closet I come across pieces that I just forgot I had. I then proceed to tell myself that I’ll remember to wear it. Except I never wear it.
So, the new rule is: if I haven’t worn it in a year, it has to go.
Wish me luck.
Last night I got an email from Netflix to remind me that Season 2 of Narcos will be available September 2nd.
If you haven’t watched this show and are on the market for a show to binge on, you need to check this out. The show is the true story of Pablo Escobar, one of Colombia’s most powerful drug lords during the 80’s. The first season chronicles the rise of Escobar as a result of the demand of cocaine in the US, as well as the involvement of the DEA in Colombia.
Season 1 was so good that I watched it within a couple of days. There is drama, action, comedy & just a tiny bit of romance.
However, be warned that the show can get pretty intense, there is quite a lot of nudity (since prostitution is such a big part of the cartels) and some sexual violence which was tough for me to watch. But other than that, it’s sooo good. I’ll leave the Season 1 trailer linked here.
I hope you all have a great weekend!
