What? Can it be true? Am I back with a Five on Friday post? Yes… yes I am. I went through a good little streaks a few weeks back and then I fell off the rail. But I’m back today to share five beauty product purchases. Some of you that read this post may be thinking WTH Claudia? But, in my defense, most of these purchases were replacements! Plus, February is my birthday month so I got a birthday gift with purchase at Sephora & a 20% of coupon at Ulta. How could I pass those up?
Five Beauty Product Purchases
I’ve had my eye on this from the moment I saw it on the Just Arrived section at Sephora. I’m actually quite shocked I waited a couple of months to finally pull the trigger.
This is an AHA/BHA gel that you apply and leave on for 20 minutes and then wash off. It’s supposed to gently resurface and exfoliate the skin. It’s almost like the Drunk Elephant Glycolic Acid Night Serum on steroids. I’ve already raved about the Night Serum and several other Drunk Elephant products so I have high hopes for this.
I’ve already used it a couple of times but I want to use it a few more before I give my full thoughts on the blog.
I ran out of my Son & Park Beauty Water Toner last month so I’ve been looking to try something new. This Peter Thomas Roth toner has glycolic acid, lactic acid, witch hazel & aloe. I’ve had really good experiences using glycolic acid (obviously since I’m talking about two in one post) so I bought it.
First impression is that this toner is INTENSE. It’s probably my bad to think it would be anything else considering it has 10% glycolic. It definitely stings a little so I haven’t used it as much as I’d like. Using the Baby Facial & this together is way too much exfoliation so I’m going to bench this toner while I finalize my thoughts on the Baby Facial.
Ardell Cluster Demi Wispies – $3.99
If I had to pick just one set of falsies, these would be it. They are insanely affordable & sturdy enough to survive multiple uses. Plus, they are glam without looking super false. The individual lashes are different lengths and slightly clustered which resembles natural lashes more closely. Love them and will probably repurchase a pair every few months.
I FINALLY ran out of all the moisturizers I had hanging out so I could repurchase something new. I’ve had good experiences with FAB so I decided to go for this one. I really wasn’t looking for anything particular, I just wanted something with SPF, fragrance & paraben free & that came in a pump. I feel like every moisturizer I’ve been using the last few months has come in a pot. I’m super paranoid about bacteria so I use a cotton swab to take the product out. And yes, #firstworldproblem but I wanted a break from the pots.
So far I’m liking it. It’s definitely not revolutionizing in any way but it hydrates & absorbs quickly so I will keep using it.
Phyto Phytophanere Hair Supplement – $60 (for one bottle)
I mentioned this product when I initially bought it to try out. It’s basically a vitamin supplement for hair, skin and nails.
I know it’s really expensive so I was hesitant to even purchase it to begin with. Especially because they recommend you take it daily for four months to really see results. So basically you have to commit to purchasing at least two bottles (each bottle is a 2 month supply) if you want to try it out. I’ve only bought this when I have coupons or there is a sale since I find it hard to justify spending so much money on a supplement.
I’ll have a full post on my experience next week so make sure to check back in!
Alright friends, that’s my five beauty product purchases! Have you tried any of these products? Also, any toner (preferable very gentle toner) recommendations are appreciated!
