It’s been a hot minute since I did a weekend recap! Mostly because most weekend are a grocery shop, clean, laundry, blog cycle. But, this weekend included another lovely Dallas Blogger Brunch so I figured I’d throw it back with a little weekend recap post.
You know it’s going to be a good weekend when it starts with puppies and margaritas. On Friday we took Tuna to Mutt Cantina in Uptown. Mutt is a hybrid patio bar/dog park. It’s $6 per pup for non-members, but the bar prices are really affordable for uptown. They have a bar with a patio, a park for big dogs and a park for little dogs. We basically got drinks and watched doggies all evening. Tuna was a bit of a wuss and spent 95% of the time on our laps. We had to walk around to get her to follow us around. She was particularly afraid of an actual french bulldog puppy that was literally terrorizing the entire dog park. He was just running full speed and ramming into every dog he saw. Interesting little thing.
After Mutt’s Cantina we headed to Pie Tap for pizza. This place is right near our house so we are frequent visitors. We sat at the kitchen bar and ordered a pizza for each of us #getinmybelly. And, as if a pizza wasn’t enough, we also ordered the doughnut hole dessert which I essentially ate all by myself. The worst part of the evening was probably when my hubby asked for a to go box for his leftover pizza and the waiter looked over at me. I didn’t need a to go box. I ate all of mine. Note these aren’t personal size pizzas…
On Saturday I met up with Rhonda from The Skinny Arm for another monthly Dallas Blogger Brunch. I finally wore my new J Crew toothpick jeans and my Marc Fisher wedges (linked below). I wish I could link my pom earrings but it looks like they are sold out 🙁 They are from J Crew Outlet. By some miracle, I didn’t get anything on my pants & didn’t twist my ankles all day.
This month’s brunch was hosted by Maggiano’s at Northpark. They recently launched a brunch menu (served until 3pm on Saturday & Sunday). They had all the brunch classics plus a few unique options like the lemon ricotta pancakes.
As always, Rhonda arranged for a unique detail for our brunch. She had the incredibly talented Emily from EG Dolls do an illustration of all of us based on one of our instagram pictures. I love that I’m holding a lipstick and a compact haha. If only my hair could be as full as my illustration. Our lovely flower arrangements were by Bon Vie Floral Design.
As expected, the food was delicious and the company was excellent. I always leave our brunches feeling so inspired by these amazing, entrepreneurial ladies. Just check out these unicorn macarons made by Sarah & Natalie from We The Birds. I can’t even deal with the adorableness.
After brunch I headed home to take pictures for the blog, hang out with Tuna and edit posts.
Lastly, on Sunday I took more pictures for the blog, went for a run and worked on this week’s posts. I take all my blog pictures in our balcony. I know it will get unbearably hot pretty soon so I’m trying to take as many pictures in advance as I possibly can. Unfortunately, one of the hazards of working in the balcony is things falling/rolling off. Of course, one of my blushes had a tragic and deadly accident after I unknowingly pushed it off the railing. Rest in peace Fiji blush.
As always, I’m linking up with Biana from B Loved Boston.
Hope you have a great week!
