Is anyone still out there? I hope so, but it’s my own fault if there isn’t. Once again, it’s been a hot minute since I blogged. So, I’m easing into it with a little Confessional Thursday post.
I meant to do a few posts on Black Friday or Cyber Monday sales, but since every other blogger and their momma did that, it seemed a bit redundant. I’m also a bit burnt out myself from the “buy this, buy that” blogging situation. Affiliate links and sponsored posts have really changed the blogging world. I’m glad people are getting compensated for their work, but it’s taken the personal nature out of blogging for many blogs.
Anyways, the point is I never got around to blogging about sales or anything else the last few weeks. The pile of empties and new products I’ve been meaning to review is quickly growing and I don’t know when I’ll ever get to it. There are too many competing priorities in my life right now to spend every Sunday blogging. But hey, at least I managed one post this week right?
+ I didn’t buy a single thing on Black Friday even though I spent most of the day around stores, or going from store to store. The lines were too long and the stores were too crowded for my comfort. In fact, this is probably the last year I will actually venture out on Black Friday. Online shopping is so much easier…
+ In the spirit of the confession above, I can’t go to Sephora in store anymore. The amount of children and tweens at the store in Dallas is insane. There are always SO many 10 year olds slathering their faces in makeup. It’s creepy and annoying and I can’t handle it.
+ The fitness membership I was using would charge me $15 if I signed up for a class but didn’t show. For two years I religious went to every single class so I wouldn’t get charged a no-show fee. But after our trip to Iceland, I somehow completely lost motivation and got charged THREE no show fees for missing classes. Not even a $15 charge was enough to get me off the couch.
+ I watch workout videos on Youtube before actually doing the workout to make sure they aren’t too difficult.
+ A few weeks ago I attempted to cook something for Friendsgiving. The recipe required chopping an onion which I knew would be difficult because I HATE (really HATE) the smell of raw onion. So, I put plastic bags on my hands to protect from the stench and decided to breathe through my mouth. I must have been cutting less than 45 seconds by the time the smell became completely overpowering and I started to gag. I had to open every window in the house and hide in the bathroom while my husband finished cutting the onion because of the smell. Never again…
+ You know how people love walking into a house to the smell of a home cooked meal? Yeah no. I hate walking into our house and smelling food. If we ever make something, or buy something that stinks up the house, I’ll usually open all the windows and light a candle until the smell goes away.
+ Sometimes I get this weird feeling that I owe my friends money for something (especially after trips or getting together). I can’t remember if someone paid for my meal or a movie ticket, but I get a feeling that they did so I end up randomly contacting people asking if I owe them money.
+ I’m pretty sure I sprained my wrist opening a jar of apple sauce.
+ We ate raw banana bread because we couldn’t wait until it was actually fully cooked.
What are your confessions this week?
