Hi Everyone! I’m so excited that it’s finally Thursday. I have a work event this afternoon and then I’m volunteering all day tomorrow. So, technically it’s the weekend starting 3pm! My parents were in town last weekend – which was great (hi Mom!). But, we packed a ton of activities around that. Plus we had a wedding on Sunday so the weekend flew by. We’re looking forward to hanging out on the couch all weekend as per usual. Actually, I just got a new camera lens so will likely be figuring out how it works… Let’s be honest, I’m not even 100% sure how the camera works yet.
+ It’s been 15 months and I’m still not past week 4 of the Couch to 5K program. I think it’s safe to assume I’m never making it off the couch.
+ After stuffing my face all last week I decided I would to a little smoothie detox yesterday. I gave up at 10:47am. So basically I had a smoothie for breakfast.
+ This isn’t technically something I did, but it’s my party right? English is not my Dad’s native language. He learned it when he was younger, but since he doesn’t live in the US, he doesn’t practice it frequently. As time goes by, he forgets more and more words so usually he just makes them up. Last week people were throwing around ideas for a family reunion. After that he informed us (extremely confidently) that we were going “test wine-ning” for the family reunion. He actually said it several times before we realized he actually meant that we are going to a wine tasting. We’re just going to refer to it as test wine-ning from now on. Our family reunion shirts will include #testwinening2017. He also calls Nordstrom Rack “Nor-rrak”…
+ I couldn’t think of anything clever to say in my Instagram caption the other day so I literally googled: Clever Instagram captions. Sadly, nothing good came up.
+ I’ve been hearing so many true crime podcasts that I decided to buy a book with tips on staying safe. One of the chapters explained how to break out if someone ties your hands with duct tape. After reading it I immediately got a roll of tape and asked my husband to tie my hands together. I probably should have prefaced the entire thing with: I’m reading this book about personal safety and want to practice breaking out. But I didn’t… His face when I went over with a tape roll and asked him to duct tape my hands was priceless.
+ I have no idea how to save Word documents on my Mac. Also, I’m pretty sure it’s not actually called “Word” on a Mac.
+ The hubby and I split up to pick up dinner and desert last night so we could eat 5 minutes sooner than if we’d just gone together. He picked up the pizza and I got desert. At least I walked to the store…
+ Text message codes really stress me out. You know when you get a code on your cell you need to enter to get your account verified? For some reason I’m always frantically trying to type the code when the text message banner pops up. As if it’s going to disappear permanently and I’ll be locked out of my account forever.
