Hi Everyone! I’ve noticed quite a bit of new readers lately so I thought I’d take a moment and reintroduce myself with 10 things you may not know about me. Like many other bloggers, I struggle quite a bit in finding the right balance between sharing on the blog and keeping my privacy. However, my favorite blogs to read are those in which I get a glimpse of the person behind the blog. So, even though most of my posts are beauty product related, I throw in random personal tidbits here and there. Today I’m sharing a completely random list of things you may not know about me.
10 Things You May Not Know About Me
+ I don’t think anyone other than my husband knows this… but I’m prone to bust out dancing pretty frequently at the house. And by frequently, I really mean daily. This is basically me every evening:
+ I’ve been a vegetarian for over a year now. I did a short stint as a vegan for about a month last year but couldn’t keep it up. Life without cheese is HARD. Plus, I’m not a big fan of vegetables which seriously limits my food options.
+ I have an older brother and a younger sister (middle child syndrome). However, most people who know us would probably guess that I’m the oldest. I like to think because I’m the wisest and most mature. Hope it has nothing to do with crows feet.
+ My husbands, Dad’s, brother’s, Grandfather and Father In Law’s names are all Fernando. It makes it fairly easy for anyone meeting them to remember their names since they only have to remember one.
+ My parents dated for 9 years before they got married. They’ll celebrate 34 years of marriage this year.
+ Not to be outdone – My hubby and I dated for 8 years before we got married. We technically met in kindergarten since we were in the same class. However, we did not start dating until we were 17.
+ Almost anything gives me motion sickness. I can’t do rollercoasters, ferris wheel rides, swings, seesaws, buses, boats – the list goes on. I have to take several dramamines before getting on a plane or long car ride. This also means I’ve never been, and will probably never be on a cruise. Tragic considering the Backstreet Boys have hosted cruises in the past. I mean… if I’m getting on a boat, it’s to see a cheesy 90’s boy band.
+ I’m obsessed with pugs. The scrunched up, squishy face? It melts my heart. I actually have a pug that currently lives with my parents in El Salvador. He was a gift from my Dad almost 10 years ago. Oddly/funnily enough, my Dad has complained about this dog non-stop for the entire 10 years. Since pug lives a happy life in El Salvador, we didn’t want to uproot him and bring him to Dallas. So, a few months after we got married, we adopted Tuna who is most likely some sort of pug mix.
+ I’m terrified of holding newborn babies. They’re just so tiny and fragile! I’ve never been around babies, so my baby holding experience is EXTREMELY limited. I don’t know how to pick them up or move them, and I’m too afraid I’m going to accidentally hurt them.
+ I seriously considered writing this blog in Spanish. It’s something I thought about quite a lot since I grew up in a Spanish speaking country and that’s my native tongue. However, after much deliberation I concluded that I would probably reach a wider audience if I wrote in English.
I probably took over 20 pictures to finally settle on the pic above. I’m literally in awe of people who successfully take frequent head shots – most of my outtakes are me with my eyes closed, me looking like Dr Evil, me trying to be cute but looking like Sheldon below, etc.
